RONEY FUNDORA & YUNIOR MARINO

02 Mar - 31 Mar 2007

Yunior Marino, born in 1976, is exhibiting his series “agua en el humo y cielo en el fuego” completed in 2005, in which images oscillate between abstraction and reality. With his figures evoking coincidental forms of fire, clouds and waves he shows us abstract art can also be naturalistic art when viewed specifically as conceptual art.

The five works of Roney Fundora, born in 1972, in this exhibition belong to the series “Inundations and Overflowings” inspired by the storms and events that caused flooding and natural disasters in different parts of the world during 2005. his series is a work on a fundamental thesis with a metaphorical base or psychology of images; a formula which aims to make the audience question and evaluate its capacity to relate; a play composed of different visual and sensitive factors addressing the mind of the audience; a mental exercise to enable us to pass beyond images and to create visual and conceptual expressions of our own.
